The Engineering Behind Seamless Connectivity

WAVETHRU utilizes a patented, non-invasive laser process to overcome the signal-blocking effect of modern glazing. This technology modifies the surface of the glass to restore mobile connectivity without altering its appearance or performance.

There are three main stages to the process:

Etching the Invisible Pattern 

Whether applied in the factory to new glazing or on-site for a legacy building, a high-precision laser etches microscopic lines in a grid pattern in the glazing's low-emissivity (metallic) coating.

Applying the Solution Strategically and Efficiently 

The laser treatment is applied to a limited area of the glass, typically around 1m². This strategic application is all that's needed to deliver optimal connectivity for the entire indoor space, making the solution highly efficient.

Creating a Smart Surface 

The laser etching process transforms the coating into a "frequency-selective surface", effectively turning it into a smart filter that allows mobile signals (0.4 to 6 GHz) to pass through freely while having a negligible impact (less than 1%) on the glazing's original thermal and solar performance.
